FUNDRAISING

The Owl Tree Children’s Café is a Community Interest Company – a not for profit venture that seeks to support parents and the wider community.

In order to cover costs and to supplement our income from sales, we need to fundraise from time to time. This has been increasingly important this year with Covid 19 closure and restrictions on the sale of food and drink in our café.

Recent successful fundraising in 2019 has included:

Asda’s Green Token Fund – we were the winners as voted for by our lovely customers.

In 2020 Your Homes Newcastle awarded us £150 towards the publishing of our Challenge and Reward book (coming soon!)

We were awarded a £1000 grant from the Aviva Community fund in 2019 and were accepted as one of the beneficiaries of the Co-Op Local Community Fund (October 2019 – October 2020) raising a whopping £1243 by being your nominated cause!

In November we held a TOY AMNESTY, collecting and re-selling good quality new and second hand toys. We raise a fantastic £752 from this and helped a number of families get some good quality Christmas gifts for bargain prices!

We are currently running a Christmas Raffle which will be drawn on Sunday 20th December 2020.

This raffle is ALL about supporting local small independent businesses and the importance of local community that has been brought to the fore by the pandemic.

Tickets will go on sale at £1 per strip and can be obtained from the Café (from 7th December) or virtually by contacting us. We will accept payment via PayPal or bank transfer and will send a photo of your full ticket(s) on proof of payment.

All prizes for the raffle have been donated by local small businesses and from the 1st to the 20th December, we will be showcasing a business a day using our social media accounts with links to their page or online store; your support would be really appreciated.
